About

THE JOURNALS

The Whitlock Journals are a series of journals written by Henry Whitlock, a naturalist who went missing in 1884, exactly a year after he moved from Oxford, England to Dean Village in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Alongside the journals, select illustrations and observational entries on various creatures, all done by Whitlock, have been curated here.

The findings presented by Whitlock in his journals have been identified as possibly the first known contact between humans and fae. While the experiences documented in these journals may not have been officially recognised or corroborated at the time, there is more than enough evidence in and around Whitlock's home that strongly suggests his words were entirely true.

THE AUTHOR

Henry Whitlock was born and raised in Oxford, England, to parents John and Abigail Whitlock. He seems to have spent his life very quietly, working as a naturalist specialising in British Wildlife.

Henry never married and did not appear to have many friends, preferring to spend his time out in nature or with his nose in a book.

Whitlock's journals reveal that he appeared to be a hardworking man, spending much of his time working in his office rather than out socialising, with a passion for illustration,
