Kelpie
A kelpie is a kind of shape-shifting fae, their closest relative being the doonie. As a shape-shifter with an animal form, there has been concerns over whether kelpies possess human-like intellect, or if they are simply wild animals and it has been a sorely debated topic for over 100 years.

One of a kelpie's forms is a horse, which displays behaviour almost identical to a normal horse, save for a slight advantage in intelligence.
Their other form is a human, which behaves exactly like any sensible human, albeit with a murderous side.
Kelpies are largely considered to be one of the most dangerous fae currently known to man. In most cases, they are extremely vicious carnivores that, given the chance, will happily devour humans.
In their equine form, they have a beautiful black coat, which is covered with a sticky substance so strong that once a person touches it they cannot get free. The kelpie then drags their victim into the water to drown and eat them.
While in this form, kelpies rarely stray from the water, as they have backwards hooves which will give away their identity.

In their human form, kelpies are considered as being among the most beautiful fae creatures in existence. It is said that their beauty is so great, they could lead a person to their watery grave simply by smiling.
